Seoul Summer Olympic 2036 Bid

GRDS 408 Professional Portfolio

For this project we had to create a logo/visual identity for the 2036 Summer Olympic bid. For the city I chose Seoul, South Korea. (This is an update/facelift for my past project from Professor Fathi Bakkoush’s class)

For the logo itself I chose to use the traditional bat symbol that Korean people uses to symbolize the 5 different luck/fortune. With the professor’s suggestion I simplified the bat symbol and made it into the Olympic Logo. Thanks to professor Soohyen Park for the help and inspiration for the logo!

And for the pattern I chose to use the Korean alphabet, and the pictograms I decided to use a very rounded stroke since Korean words are very geometric and round, I thought having a rounded stroke and a very geometric shapes fits really well.
